Making Money from Google Adsense

There is nothing more rewarding than receiving the check of hard earned money. You must have seen thousands upon thousands of online testimonies of how they 'got rich' from Google Adsense and how they make thousands per week. Some of these stories are not entirely false.

The main secret behind making money from Google Adwords/Adsense program is content. There is no shortcut. Content is the first step behind any successful money making website. Of course, there is SEO-ing, but content is what drives the potential customers to your site. How much you are willing to invest will determine how much you will make per month, but it is possible to make money without spending a dime.

First of all, you will need a website. Assuming your content will be purely textual (since Google spiders crawl on text/keywords), you may either get a domain and hosting or choose to post to a blog, or you could sign up for free ad-supported website. It is recommended that if you plan on making money from your website, you ought to get a website with your own domain name, after all, ad supported hosting defeats the purpose of your money making; plus, you want your website to appear as professional and less congested as possible.

Now that you have a website, the next step is getting content for your site, but we'll get to that at the end of this article.

Now that you have a domain name and a niche, you will have to sign up for the Google Adwords Program. Note that Google Adwords enables you to get paid for advertising and Google Adsense is when you will have to pay for advertising.

Now that you have your domain with efficient hosting, and your Adwords account, you will need to build your site. If you are already a site-creating guru, then you are a step ahead. If not, creating your content site is not purely throwing out HTML pages. Sooner or later, content is going to keep growing and you may either get an efficient content manager or get hired help.

Traffic makes the difference between you making money or you not getting a dime. In order to get traffic, you can either optimize your website or get traffic by spamming. Now, remember that spamming will not get you repeat visitors, and will give your business a very bad reputation, plus, spamming may cost your website not to be listed on search engines, and Google has the right, under the 'Terms and Conditions' to revoke your Adwords account. You definitely do not want to start from scratch.

Traffic can come by word of mouth and efficient SEO-ing. SEO is an enormously broad topic that ranges from content, link popularity, link exchanges, keywords, web description, etc., to website rankings and so on. In order to remain on the top of your niche, you will need to always want your customers coming back. In order to keep that traffic flowing, you will need to keep content coming fresh and keeping your site constantly optimized and up to date. You will need to be aware of most common spider crawling techniques and use it to your advantage.

Another most common made mistake in getting website content free and cheap is to copy other websites or repeat the same information (if you have more than one money-making site). This is a bad move! Search engines will see this duplicate content as spam and remove it from searched results. Also, if you copy and paste content that is not yours and/or of public domain you will be infringing copyright. Copyright infringement is a crime.

As far as content goes, you can hire help to write articles or you can conveniently buy articles in bulk. Bulk articles are normally distributed by renowned companies and usually are more cost-efficient. Bulk content is also good if you are thinking of expanding your site. A renowned company that can help you with content and marketing strategies is the Myrdhinn's Marketing Madness. There are thousands of articles in different niches and since it's from a trustworthy company, you can always return for new quality content.

Remember that signing up for Google Adwords is free. If your website gets rejected at first, don't worry. Just build your site and re-apply. As long as your website is legitimate and is not an 'about-me' site, you are more than likely to get approved. Plus, having an Adwords account opens you to the Google community and you can increase your PageRank dramatically.

2 Gems For Finding Amazing Products to Sell On eBay

Are you at the point of your eBay venture that you may be feeling tapped out? Did you sell everything in everyone's attic that you could think of and now you're wondering, what next?

Don't wonder any more. Believe me, there is so much product out there it is mind- boggling. The supply is unlimited.

Think of this: how about going to local garage sales and getting some deals, or going into your neighbourhood? Good ideas, yes? But there is more. What about your local retail stores? You could perhaps find deals or maybe even inquire about overstock. Maybe your family or friends work for companies who have product.

All of these can be great places to find product. There are also many, many wholesalers who are dying for you to buy from them. Sometimes you could get in too deep, so go slow and do your homework first.

Homework you say? Well, yes it sounds awful, at least to our children, but this kind of homework is fun and easy. You will not be up all night tearing out your hair, at least I hope not!

The key to finding great products is to build great relationships with people. If companies have a lot of product, and they like the way you do business, well that makes it easy for you to continue purchasing product from them.

Again, a great place to start is to check into the employers of family and friends. Because you already know their employees, it makes it a bit easier to get your foot in the door. Get to know them; you will be surprised how easy it is to build a great business around this one idea.

Whether you choose this route or buying from wholesalers, or whichever avenue you decide to go, there is a magic recipe you need to be successful. Do you want me to tell you what it is? RESEARCH!

I have mentioned this before, but I will go into it a little deeper this time. Research, research, research.

Research before you buy.

Here are 2 important ways to go about this research.

1. Think of these points. How much can you get this product for? How much can you sell it for? How long will it take for you to go through the whole process and get the product listed on eBay, and how much money will you have in your pocket when it is all over?

Are you a good shopper? Can you spot deals? Give me a break! Any mother today who cannot spot deals is either really doing without or is completely broke! So you can spot a deal can you? Good! Use that skill to find your products to sell on eBay.

It would be a good idea for you to begin your search for products in an arena you are familiar with. Try to start with something you already know a lot about. You understand this product. You know the little quirky things about this that make it so great.

You love to research this arena; you might even have a passion for this kind of stuff. You know where to find it and you know how to spot the deals.

Now you have a huge advantage over the next guy. You know what you're looking at and right away you could make a yes or no decision as to whether or not you should buy it or not.

2 . Now let us look at overstock items. Or maybe a retailer just simply lost their mind for a moment and bought way too much of the same thing. That has never happened to us mothers, right? If a retailer has a load of stuff in their back room just sitting, and you come along and express lots of interest in buying it, do you not think maybe they would be interested? Who wouldn't? You are offering to pay them a good amount, and they in turn not only make money, but clear out their space for newer merchandise.

And guess what? EBay is not new any more, and most people have heard of eBay and know the value of getting involved with it. It is not hard to convince people to start something here.

So now you approach these retailers. They see you face to face, they like what they see, let's hope, and they are interested in this venture. Your relationship has begun.

Because they are local, you do not have any inbound shipping costs to think about. You can see the merchandise yourself and you know if it is of good quality or crap.

You know what you are buying and you have more confidence and trust in this whole endeavor. You like them, they like you, you like the product, they like the price, you can sell it easily on eBay with a profit, and it is all good.

Where Can I Find A Reliable Website SEO Company?

When you are looking for a way out make sure that your website gets the traffic it needs to survive on the internet, the search engines are one of the most important tools that you can use. About 80% of all traffic on the internet goes through a search engine and a very vast proportion of that traffic goes through Google. When you take that into account, you will be aware that if someone is going to find your site, they will in all likelihood do so using Google or a related search engine. There are many companies out there that can help your website get picked up, and to find the right one for you, there are a few things that you should keep in mind.

Search engines like Google use complicated formulas to bring up the searches that are requested. While the use of the search string (as it is stated) is important, Google will also use things like keyword concentrations, the prevalence of relevant terms, and how relevant the rest of the text is to what the person is talking about. Another example that Google will use is the prevalence of links that lead to your site; in some ways, this is very much like a popularity contest.

An SEO company that knows its business will be aware of everything a search engine will use to find your site, and then it will put in a lot of work towards making your site one of the first few results that the search engines will pull up. When you consider the fact that most browsers never go down past the first few hits and even fewer make it to the second page, you can see why this is so important! Getting a good SEO company can give you a real boost in traffic and sales.

There are several things to keep in mind when you are hunting for an SEO company that will get you the results you need. The first thing is to find one that has worked in your industry before. If you work in a special field, it is always good to get an SEO consultant who is familiar with that field and will have an understanding of who will be looking for you. Look around for SEO companies who have worked with your competitors, or preferably, you can get a recommendation via word of mouth.

When you have a few possibilities, check out their testimonials and the techniques that they use. Send them polite inquiries and judge their responses the way that you would judge any contractor. Do they have a good record for a timely response and do they have a clearly ethical viewpoint towards SEO procedures? There are some procedures that will essentially “trick” people into coming to your site, but in the end, because they are essentially cheats, it will do more harm than good.

When you are looking for an SEO company to get your website higher in the search engine results page, remember to look for competence, experience and reliability. A good SEO company can take your business a long way, so be sure to get the best!

Business Planning Basics

Business planning is an important factor when you are launching your small business startup or online business, and you need to make sure you have documented your ideas thoroughly and objectively for each area. From financial projections to summaries and overviews, an effective business plan will help you and potential investors determine how valuable the business idea truly is.

Most people make the mistake of thinking they don't need a business plan for an online business or startup; they think they can just launch first, and then put the pieces together as they move ahead. However, this can be a costly strategy and puts you at risk for some big mistakes. Business planning will help you organize your goals and keep you on track towards success. Here are some basic do's and don'ts for business planning:

Do write up the business plan summaries before filling out each area. The summary can serve as a basic guide, and can always be changed later if needed. You'll need to write up the general idea of what the section is about so you have a simple outline before getting into the details.

Don't analyze trends too early. While it's a good idea to do some market research and learn about your customers, determining market potential too early on can lead to poor decisions. Effective business planning requires that you find only the information that supports your ideas at this present moment, and then using solid financial projections for forecasting at a later date.

Do outline a marketing budget and plan. Your marketing plan doesn't have to be complex to be effective, and there are many ways you can work on promoting your business and developing a strong customer base. Make a list of at least 5-8 marketing objectives and strategies so that you can coordinate your marketing plan immediately from the startup of your business.

Don't share your business planning strategy or ideas with too many people. You want to make sure that your plans and information remain confidential until you are prepared to launch. Sharing your ideas with too many people can easily make you lose out on a great business opportunity.

Do include sales strategies and marketing tools you want to use. This will help you narrow down which approaches might be most effective for your business as you start out, and you can always build upon them as the business grows. Having these ideas in writing will help you keep track of your objectives with ease.

Don't include your background research or additional ideas within the final plan. Business planning does require some strategic reporting, and you don't have to 'publish' all of your research in the final plans. Take the time to weed out what is most important for you as you get going, and organize the plan as if you were going to be presenting it to a board for review. This will help you filter out what is necessary for the beginning phases of your small business startup, and what can wait for additional review at a later date.

Effective business planning takes time, patience, and strong research and organization skills but the effort is well worth it. Following some business planning basics is all you need to get started, and you can work on building up your plan with ease as the business grows.

Anybody planning an online marketing campaign should look very carefully at the so-called free marketing tools and options, the effectiveness of some of the techniques will surprise them.

Instead of all the headaches and extra work that has to go into mini sites, many smart online entrepreneurs use free marketing articles. Much of the free online marketing is just a big waste of time, and often generates a ton of mail soliciting YOUR business. One of the best ways to get free web site marketing is to get your web site’s link, with title and description, placed on other websites.

Another way people use these free methods are to embed their affiliate links and product links into them so that readers will click on them and thus get more website traffic to their websites and make money when these get converted into sales. Another benefit of online marketing articles is that it helps to generate more links and traffic to your website. The power of article marketing is obvious, and if you are a website owner, you should certainly be using it to drive free targeted traffic to your website.

One of the best and most powerful ways to drive targeted traffic to your website and to make sales is through Article Marketing. The next way to drive free targeted traffic to your website is to include a link to your site and small ‘hook’ in your signature. Remember: People (customers and employees) + Package (your Face to the Customer) + Brand (who you are) = Marketing Success. Online marketing articles are one of the best ways to market your business on the internet.

The Nature of Search Engine Updates

This article I have written is very pertinent to my feelings because I am currently waiting for the Google PageRank updates, where I will hopefully receive a higher PR. Webmasters always anxiously wait for a search engine update. Those who rank well want to see their sites get even better. Those who didn't do well expect a major boost. Those whose sites get de-indexed anticipate a major comeback. Those who just started new sites bet on their sites will make into the first page of search engine result pages (SERPs) for their targeting keywords. Of course, not everyone will be happy about the results of search engine updates. After all, search engine traffic is a zero-sum game - someone loses and someone gains. Then, the webmasters start preparing for next update.

The Types of Search Engine Updates
Search Engines are large software systems. There're three types of search engine updates.

  1. Updates of index database - Search engine crawlers continuously scan the Web for new content and changes to feed their index databases. This drives the minor SERP shifts.
  2. Minor search engine updates - Search engines need to fix software bugs and do some minor algorithm changes once in a while. Minor updates seem to happens monthly.
  3. Major search engine updates - Every year, major search engines will shock the SEO community with major search engine updates. A major update involves both major algorithm changes and the re-organization of the index database. Major search engine updates are clearly driven more by business reasons than by technical reasons.

The Business Reasons Behind The Major Updates
All major search engines claim that they strive to present search results to users with the highest quality. But the business of search engine is business. What they won't tell us is that there're many business reasons for every major search engine updates. Search engine traffic is hot commodity - it's free and has higher conversion rate since the searchers are very close to make their buying decisions. The downside of the search traffic for webmasters is that they don't have control at all. Your sites may be ranked #1 today, but nowhere next day.

Search engine companies will, no doubt, use the search engine traffic to maximize the values for their stakeholders. Google's Feb. 2 update (allegra update or Superbowl update) once again shocked the webmaster community like last Florida update. The noticeable change in Superbowl update is that well-established sites rank well even for specific keywords that aren't even highly relevant to their pages. You may think the move is to fight spams and improve the quality of SERPs. That's only part of the story. The results of the update is that the websites of well-established corporations (with never ending press releases) will get a major traffic boost from Google. Google does this by algorithm changes, not manual manipulations.

If we think search engine traffic from Google is really an incentive to try it free before you buy. This time, Google decides to lure the major corporations to test the benefits of search traffic. Major corporations will likely increase their spending in online advertising and those news agencies may even drop their law sues against Google if they see the traffic from Google justifies that their sites benefit from including in Google index database.

Is this the real driving force behind last update? Only Google knows. If you own Google, however, you will do the exactly the same.

Will this negatively impact the user experience? - maybe and maybe not. What is the real difference between the #1 spot and the site that ranks #100? - the backlinks. Backlinks don't alter the quality of a page at all.

When they say technology, they mean business. Major technology changes are always driven by business needs. It has nothing to do with "good" or "bad".

Strategies to Cope with search Engine Updates
The Internet and the Web was once hailed as the new medium and the new opportunity for small business and site owners. They will be disappointed as big three peek into fortune 500 companies's deep packets. There're strategies they can use to cope with the search engine updates, however.

  1. Create a portfolio of website using different SEO techniques. If some of your sites get hammered in a update the rest may benefit from the update.
  2. Generate traffic from all major search engines.
  3. Use the search traffic to build loyal user bases.
  4. Build sites similar to the sites of well-established companies. The tags, on-page, off page optimization techniques will become less and less important as major corporations aren't interested in those types of things that geek webmasters are interested.

Speculation on Coming Updates
The next Google update is around the corner. I won't expect any noticeable change. If Google decides to let big apples try search traffic free. They will need a couple of months to realize the values of the search traffic. There will be major re-distribution of search traffic in 3 or 6 months. If the same group of major corporations always get huge amount of free traffic from Google. They won't bother to open their wallets. The major traffic distribution may be from one group of major corporations to another. The search traffic will unlikely sift back to small sites.

Own Craigslist During the Holidays!

The holidays are just around the corner. Soon lights will line the roof tops and the hustle and bustle will begin as holiday shoppers search for those perfect gifts. Not only will shopping malls transform but online traffic will increase as this busy season comes to life.

As online shopping becomes more and more popular, its no wonder sites like Craigslist have caught the attention of both buyers and sellers. Each month over 10 million people visit Craigslist.org to buy or sell just about anything.

Craigslist was launched in 1995 and has become the 7th most popular website. Amongst personals, housing and job postings, there are twenty four “for sale” categories and fourteen “service” categories to choose from. The beauty of Craigslist is that searching or posting ads is completely free, except for job postings in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. Unlike other classified sites or auction sites like EBay, which charge fees, Craigslist offers a value Marketers can take advantage of; free listings targeted to a specific city or region.

For the online or brick and mortar store, advertising on Craigslist is a great alternative to costly advertising fees from traditional sources. Not only do ads have the potential of reaching a phenomenal number of people, but can be seen by people looking specifically for items or services in that particular category. Posting to Craigslist is easy. Keep in mind, a simple design that matches the down-to-earth feel of the Craigslist community will be most effective. For best results, post ads in the most relevant categories. Creativity in posting to other less logical, but relevant categories can be a great advantage as well. An ad must be legitimate. Content should be concise, accurately portrayed and stand out among other similar listings. Careful attention to proper spelling, grammar and punctuation help to create legitimacy. Familiarizing oneself with Craiglist’s terms and conditions will contribute to a more positive experience. Besides simply posting ads, answering ads seeking those products or services is also a great way of generating business.

Buyers looking to take advantage of wholesale or discounted prices, will find that Craigslist is a convenient place to shop with an easy to navigate site. Crowded shopping malls can be avoided by searching local listings in a region, with 24/7 access to the World Wide Web. New and used, unusual and unique are the items that can be found when shopping on Craigslist.

Common sense should be used when engaging with online sellers. If the item purchased is being shipped to the buyer, buyer should obtain the contact information of the seller in case the item doesn’t arrive. If the transaction will take place in person, a safe, public meeting place should be chosen and never a secluded one.

These tips and recommendations will help buyers and sellers make the most of the holidays by taking advantage of online shopping and free advertising on Craigslist.

Google Nemesis allows you to utilize their effective formula to beat Google at their own game and make an average of $2,634 per day! Here's the exact formula, the elite use, the very same formula I used to pump out an easy second income with Google...

STEP 1
You log onto a certain website (I will give you the website) and see which products have been highlighted for you as hot (if you can access a website, you can do this).

STEP 2
You look for your special “shadow elite” indicator. It’s almost like a combination lock – if you don’t know the code, you will never discover the secret bounty hiding inside the vault. But once someone (an insider) hands you the code, and the numbers line up, you could well be in profit within minutes. These secret indicators surface rarely – but when you spot these tell-tale signs, you can be sure that a hot profit opportunity is right around the corner.

STEP 3
To stack the deck even more firmly in our favour, we launch our campaign with one of 3 proven website templates and create our Google ads using a very narrow, specific formula. We then sit back and wait for the automated software to flag the profit opportunities for us.

That’s all there is to it. Once our campaign is live, we don’t need to sit around waiting for the action to unfold. All you need to do is check daily to see how the campaign is doing.

I signed up to this website when I was searching for a better way to make money through my blog posts. After a quick Google search, I found my true love at first sight. PayPerPost was everything and more and was waiting for me to begin. The signup form was simple, and it didn't require a credit card! What a shock that was to me. So far, I've made friend with many people who have requested blog posts, and I thoroughly enjoy the community which payperpost allows to flourish. The 7 Lies of Network Marketing

When you are looking for ways to make money, you will most certainly look for all possible avenues of an honest living and make sure that you get the most for an investment, if you have to make one. You may also have encountered network marketing, and because of the negative images surrounding it, you might have been discouraged to join. Your hesitance is understandable, but guess what ñ you might have heard the 7 lies of network marketing before, and you need to change a bit of your mindset in order to see how network marketing can help you.

Network marketing can actually help you earn cash if you do it right, so take a look at this list before you dismiss it entirely.

  1. Network marketing requires you to pay out with a lot of money. Not all network marketing schemes require you to make an investing ñ in fact, some of them will require a small fee in order for you to start purchasing things, which you can then sell. If you encounter a network marketing scheme that tells you to pay up front with an exorbitantly high amount, and you are made to expect a lot of returns that sound unreal, then the deal might be a scam.
  2. All network marketing schemes are scams. Sure, there are some bad guys out there who want to get your money and run, but not all marketing schemes are out to ruin your life. There are actually extremely good people who want to help you succeed, so donít be afraid to try out a scheme ñ better yet, donít be afraid to ask the network marketing scheme officers questions, and do your own investigating to check how good a scheme is.
  3. Network marketing will not earn you any money. Network marketing can actually pay out generously, and if you do it right. If you are able to get stable and reliable downlines, you can actually earn a lot of money!
  4. You can earn millions through network marketing, and within the first few weeks of work. Now donít get your hopes up too high ñ network marketing requires some degree of work from you, so donít believe network marketing offers that tell you that you need only a few tasks done before you can start laughing all the way to the bank.
  5. Network marketing is illegal. Itís not.
  6. Network marketing requires you to have loads and loads of friends and to network constantly. Well, you do have to network constantly, but if you are able to pick out three or four friends who share your aspirations, and who are as sales-savvy as you, then you will fare better than people who have hundreds of friends but only a handful who are able to meet the sales-savvy levels of network marketing.
  7. Network marketing products or services are of low quality. People actually buy such products and services, and money is made off them. You only need to pick the right program that has products and services that you believe in so that you can sell them better.
These are only 7 lies of network marketing, and there may be more misunderstanding, thanks to negative images often propagated by mass media. To find out more, do your own investigating, and see how network marketing might be able to help you. Who knows? You might find a good program that has the right fit for you, and you can start networking, selling, and earning.

Five Kinds of Successful Online Businesses

If you're seriously considering starting an online business, it makes sense that you would want to choose something that's going to do well right from the start. When you're investing time and money in your business, it would help to know if you're setting yourself up for failure or for success. Here are five different kinds of online businesses that have proven to be a hit with customers. Perhaps you can find your perfect business idea here too.

Health and Weight Loss
Everyone either wants to lose weight or wants to improve their health. We're a society that wants to take care of our bodies and if we look good at the same time, that's all the better. If you want to start an online business, you might want to focus on ways to help people lose weight or simply to improve their health. You can do this by offering fitness and health related products on your website or perhaps by offering eBooks that will help them make better health decisions. Try to find something that relates to a question or a concern a person has about their health - and then you have a viable and profitable business plan.

Beauty
While it used to be that beauty was something that only women talked about, that certainly isn't the case any longer. That said, women are still the consumer group that is much more likely to invest in makeup and skin care products, though men too are looking to improve their appearance. With anti aging face products, both genders can begin to reclaim their youthful appearance, which will help them feel more confident in any setting. Selling high quality makeup products and helping customers with their choices is a great business plan, as it allows customers to have the department store experience from the comfort of their home.

Exercise and Sports
But weight loss isn't the only concern with it comes to health for customers. Exercise and sports are other areas where you can make a profit with your online business. For example, selling sporting equipment or products related to sports fans is still a big business. When you work with the team and their product line, you will be able to access thousands of fans who want to support their team with licensed products.

Fashion
Of course, fashion is still a hot seller, no matter where you are. If you can present high quality fashions on your website, you will attract not only the teenaged sector, but also those in their twenties and thirties - of both genders. Look to celebrity and gossip magazines to show you what's hot and what's not and then look for a vendor that sells the same or similar items that you can them turn around to sell for a profit.

Low Price Goods
No matter what you choose to add to your website, if you can sell products available on other sites for a much lower price, you are going to do well. This goes for fashion, beauty, exercise, sports, etc. If you can find high quality products that can be sold at much lower prices, you will draw in many more customers than you could have with higher priced goods. For example, if you can find a way to sell organic goods and clothing for much cheaper than healthy food specialty stores, you can help those that want to be healthier, but can't afford the higher prices of other stores.

No matter what you choose, try at first to think of things that you yourself might want to buy online - chances are good that you're not the only one.

Link Building Basics

A good analogy for links is votes, where each link to your site is a vote in your favor and the sites with the most votes tend to get the highest rankings. Google & Yahoo place a lot of importance on the quality of your links in determining rankings.

In this article I will be sharing with you some important info on link building and some strategies to help your one way link building.

Before we get started, it's important to understand the fundamentals...

Beginning with the very basics, a link is a way of navigating from one webpage to another. To have a link within the same website is called an 'internal link'. An 'external link' takes you from a webpage in one website to a webpage in another website. The meaning of 'backlink' is that your site is being linked to from another website.

There are 4 different types of links:

  1. URL Link - This is simply a website URL that is a link.
  2. Text Links (aka static links) - This is the most common type of link (when you click on a word or phrase and it is a link)
  3. Image Links - An image link is simply an image that you click on to navigate to another webpage.
  4. Dynamic Links - These types of links are in another programming language called Javascript and while they also take you from one webpage to another, they have 'extra codes' to perform special functions (these types of links can appear in many different forms).
It is important to be able to recognize these types of links, even if you are not familiar with web design and programming. You don't have to memorize the codes, just learn to identify each type of link.

Links provide navigation for human visitors and for 'spiders' (aka: crawlers, robots, bots). Simply put, a spider is a computer program that goes to websites and gathers information. Search engines use spiders to visit and 'index' your website. This means that they gather information about your site in order to list it in their search results.

When the search engine spiders index your website, they follow the links to get from one webpage to another. It's important to know that search engines cannot follow 'dynamic links' and do not follow html links that have a special code in them that says 'no follow'.

The place where 'no follow' is commonly found is in the "meta tags" section of the website. Meta tags are basically information that only the spiders see and not for the human visitor. You can see the code for any website in your browser by choosing 'view source'. (From Internet Explorer, choose Page » View Source. From Firefox choose View » Page Source)

If a search engine spider cannot follow a link from another website to yours, you can still receive visitors but the link will not have any value from a search engine optimization perspective.

What different kind of links could you get?

There are 2 types of links that you can get: (1) One-way links - A one-way link is when another website links to you and you don't link back to them. (2) Reciprocal links - A reciprocal link is when a website links to you and you link back to them.

One-way links are more valuable in the eyes of the search engines. However, each link has its own individual value based on: how relevant it is to your site, the text in and around the link, how much authority the website that links to you has, etc.

However, there are links that the search engines rates as 'no value' links, even though they are bringing you boatloads of targeted visitors every day...

Generally speaking, the more websites that link to you the better. Link building is a time consuming task and to put your energy on getting 'high-quality links' will give you more value back on your invested work. 50 high quality links can be much more valuable from a search engine optimization perspective than 1000 'low quality links'.

What's a high quality link? - Links that brings you Page Reputation (which shows the search engines that other related websites consider you to be important), and links that give you PageRank. Sometimes both together and sometimes not...

To get high rankings on your website, you want to obtain links for targeted keywords. For this reason it's necessary to start with Keyword Research.

If your website is about "bird watching", the first step is to 'do keyword research' and find out which keyword you should aim for. While you could just start getting text links for the keyword phrase "bird watching", if no one is searching for that - you won't get any visitors. There's no sense in ranking on the first page for a keyword that no one is looking for.

Or, if there is a lot of competition for that keyword, you might want to pick a "lower hanging fruit".

This is an excellent free keyword research tool. (The numbers you see are searches/day.)

Another important part is making sure your page is optimized for the keyword you are targeting. If you are focussed on building one way links to your site but the links have anchor text which doesn't even appear on your page, you will likely be wasting your time. (I say likely assuming that you have some competition for your targeted keywords, if there is no competition then it doesn't matter).

In this case a site that has fewer one way links but much better on-page optimization is likely to rank higher. Or maybe you are building one way links to your site but they are just URL links and not anchor-text links. Another site that has less links than you but better quality (anchor-text) will be likely to rank higher.

Ideally, you want to build a lot of one way links that have anchor text which includes the primary and secondary keywords that your page is optimized for. Google also uses Latent Semantic Indexing which (in a nutshell) means that they study the synonyms of the keywords on your page. This is to prevent spammers from just loading every second word with their keywords. Their algorithm looks at all the words on your page and how they relate to each other.

So, there's no sense in building one way links if your content is not worthwhile. The first thing you want to do is to optimize your sites for you visitors. Then, you can go through and "sprinkle" your keywords. Then, go out and get one way links with the anchor-text of your targeted keywords, ideally getting most of these links from websites that are related to yours.

Yes, Google looks at how the content on your site and the content on the site you link to relate with each other. Fewer links to your business site from other business sites will be more valuable link-wise than more links coming to you from a site about video games.

Don't make these link building mistakes:
  1. Don't spend all your time getting one way links from sites with no Page Rank. One or two links from related Page Rank 5+ sites can be worth more than 100 links from sites with no PR.
  2. Be careful about buying links or you can get banned. Site Wide links is something you should be extra careful about. To go from having only a few backlinks one day to having hundreds one day later is something that can lead to penalization by Google.
  3. Don't spend all your time building one way links that are URL-links, you want to get anchor-text links.
  4. It is important to not get "No-Follow" links, since they don't bring any value to your site.

How to Make Email Marketing Work for Your Business

Topic 1: Your Email Subject Lines
How To Write A Good E-mail Subject Lines That Works?

Here are the 5 tips:

1. Ask a question. One of the best ways to get a reader's attention is to ask a question. But like a trial lawyer questioning a witness on the stand, make sure it'll get you the response you're looking for. "What's the best way to grow your business?" is a great subject line for business owners. After all, what business owner wouldn't want to grow his or her business? Or let's say you run a health club. An e-mail with the subject line, "How can you lose 5 pounds in one month?" would certainly be compelling. It's important your question be relevant to your audience.

2. Be a tease. A clever subject line can be enticing. When it's done right, reader curiosity is piqued. They want to know more--and they'll open your e-mail. Writing a teaser-style subject line requires some creativity, and your content needs to deliver. A company that sells high-definition TVs could use the subject line, "You're not going to believe your eyes" as a teaser to introduce a new addition to their product line.

3. Tell it like it is. Often, what works best is to say exactly what you want your reader to know. Examples of this straightforward approach are, "Sale on all sweaters this weekend," "Master jazz pianist plays live this Friday" and "The seven secrets of a profitable business." This just-the-facts approach works especially well when you can appeal directly to your audience's interests. It's also the best approach to use when you send a newsletter.

4. Remember "WIIFM". When a person gets your e-mail, the first thing they consider is "what's in it for me?" They have a decision to make. Do they open your e-mail, leave it for later or delete it? If there isn't something about the subject line that lets them know why it's worth their precious time to see what's inside, then the choice will be clear. Keep WIIFM in mind when creating every aspect of your e-mails, including the offer, content, images--and most definitely the subject line. It's all about them. They know that; just make sure you know it, too.

5. Get personal. The more you can make each contact feel you're speaking directly to them, the more effective your communication will be. Whatever style of subject line you use, you can make it personal by using the word "you." Professional copywriters know the secret of using this powerful little word. Just look at the advertisements, mail and e-mail you receive. A few examples are, "Find the right swimsuit for you," "You can save 50 percent on travel," and "You'd look phenomenal in a custom-tailored suit." "You" is ideal, but "your" works too.

6. Not sure which approach is right for you? Try them all, and then show a friend or colleague to get their feedback. Pick the one you believe will be most effective for your audience. Whichever approach you choose, it's always worth spending the time and effort to write a great subject line. Because if your readers don't open your e-mail, they'll never have the chance to read the important message you've created for them inside.

Topic 2: Increase Click-Through Rate (CTR)

How to Increased Click-Through Rate (CTR)?

Here are some guidelines:

1. Include a feature, a benefit, and an advantage in the opening. This needs to be used in a subtle way, but in the opening you're really doing a small marketing job for this issue of your email newsletter. Highlight an article or two that are important, explain what you're providing the readers that they won't get elsewhere, and tell them what the benefit will be. A great example is something like "Nokia and Sprint announced second quarter earnings today. Learn what our Wireless Week experts say about the results, and what effect you can expect them to have on the industry at large."

2. Put the email newsletter in the context of your readers' day. This goes hand in hand with the last point. Your readers are busy, and if you can make a compelling case for why they should stop what they are doing and take a few minutes now to read your email newsletter, you'll get them in. We recommend editors reference important events, upcoming trade shows, or other things that say to the reader "You will find it worthwhile to stop and read this email newsletter now, because the information in it will help you stay on top of your business."

3. Keep it fresh. Don't craft a "perfect paragraph" and use it issue after issue after issue. One of the keys to success is to keep the copy fresh and highlight items in that issue of the email newsletter. If you use the same generic language repeatedly, people will stop reading it and it'll be a waste of your time.

4. Keep it short. This is critical. We recommend no more than two to three sentences -- just enough to get them interested and pull them in to read the rest of your email newsletter.

Try it out and see the results! This is just one of the simple things you can do to engage your reader and optimize your CTR.

Topic 3: Killer Email Sales Letter

How to Write Killer Email Sales Letter That Get Results?

Here are what we've found works best. Use these tips properly and your results will skyrocket.

1. Your email "from" sender line should be your brand name or company name and stay consistent. Use your own personal name only if that is your brand image.

2. Send emails only when you have something to say that will benefit the reader. No fluff. No filler. You must be relevant. If you can't be, don't send an email until you have something beneficial to say.

3. Start your emails with the specific benefit the reader can get from your message. You have no more than 3 seconds to pass the crucial "what's in it for me?" test.

4. The copywriting tone and language should be personal and conversational, instead of stuffy and "corporate".

5. Make a specific offer to the reader and, if possible, include a short deadline by which he must respond to get it.

6. Use as much copy as is needed to fully pile on all the benefits the reader will get by ordering, answer objections, create urgency, and close the sale.

7. Test your subject lines and offers on small segments of your list before you send the email to your entire list.

8. Include "Email this to a friend" service in all your communications for pass along and viral marketing.

Topic 4: Good Call-to-Action

Get More Clicks With a Good Call-to-Action!

The call-to-action is a determining factor of your click-through rate. It is an important component of your email copy because it answers three important questions for the recipient. They are:

1. What you want them to do

2. Why they should do it, and

3. How to take that next step.

Whatever action you want your recipients to take, you can make it happen more often with a good call-to-action. First, decide what you want them to do:

1. Buy something

2. Sign up for a service

3. Fill out a form

4. Read an article or get more information

5. Visit your website or store

6. Make an appointment

Etc…

Then, make sure you incorporate these 6 characteristics to get the results you're looking for. Make your call-to action:

1. Visible - People read, react, make decisions and take action differently. Some make decisions right away ("You had me at hello.") and some need more details ("I'm from Missouri."). Place call-to-action links in the beginning, middle and end of the email so that recipients can click whenever they are ready.

2. Clear - Stick to simple words, short phrases, bulleted benefits and paragraphs of 1-3 short sentences. Include appropriate graphics and cut the clutter by making effective use of white space.

3. Compelling - Use action-oriented verbs and phrases: "buy now," "call today," "save" and so on.

4. Rewarding - Offer an incentive or reward for action. For example, "Act now and also receives...," or "the First 100 respondents will be entered into a raffle to win..." The giveaway, or prize, you choose should be closely related to your product or service. That way, you will be targeting customers who are interested in what you have to offer, not just the latest gadget.

5. Urgent - The longer an email sits in an inbox, the less likely it is to be acted on. Create a sense of urgency to get a more immediate response. Try limiting the offer to a specific time period, to the "first 50 customers," "while supplies last," etc.

6. Direct - Your call-to-action links should go to the appropriate page on your website with more details on the specific product or service you're promoting. If you don't have a website, the call-to-action might be store locations to visit or a number to call for an appointment.

Keep in mind that, in addition to repeating your call-to-action, you can vary your call-to-action to appeal to different types of buyers (and to fit your sales cycle). For example: "Click here to buy now" will naturally work better with loyal customers. The softer, "Click here to learn more" may be better for newer prospects.

Topic 5: Avoid Common Pitfalls

Read Your Email Message Backwards to Avoid Common Pitfalls

Here are some common problems to look out for:

1. Misspelled words - It's a good idea to spell-check a document, but it's not enough. A spell checker won't catch every error.

2. Wrong word used - This is why a spell checker isn't enough. A spell checker will only flag words it doesn't recognize. It can't tell if a legitimate word is used incorrectly. Some words commonly confused: accept, except; your, you're; then, than; there, their, they're; cite, site, sight; lay, lie; loose, loosen, lose. Also, look out for a missing "r" in the word "your." It's easy to overlook a sentence such as "Visit our Web site now to receive you free copy."

3. Grammar error - Again, if you know you're not a good writer, have someone else check your writing for grammatical errors. Mistakes make you look bad.

4. Punctuation error - This is another area where you'll benefit from a review by someone who knows their stuff. If you're determined to do it yourself, purchase a good grammar or style book. One of the most common punctuation problems: Too many stupid commas!

5. Vague or confusing statement - Make sure every sentence is crystal-clear. You don't want your promotional message to raise more questions than it answers.

6. Illogical statement - Read over what you have written slowly. At the end of each paragraph, ask yourself: "Did that make sense?" Rewrite so that it does.

Topic 6: Frequency of Sending Emails

How Often (Frequency) Should You Send Email?

There's no quick answer to the frequency question. It depends on the goals for your email and the type of content you send. Some rough guidelines:

1. Mail at least once a month. Mail less often than this, and you risk being forgotten by recipients. Monthly is the bare minimum if you want to keep your brand or company name top of mind (a common email goal).

2. Let content be your guide. Look at what you provide readers and you'll get a feel for proper frequency. Analyze how often the information changes and how quickly readers must receive it to act on it.

3. Work within your resources. A daily email requires many more resources than a monthly. Better a well-done monthly email than shoddy weekly or daily. It's recommended to start with a monthly. Once that's going smoothly, they can think about moving to weekly. You need to walk before you can run!

4. Watch for trends. Declining response, open, and click-through rates can be signs of list fatigue. Though some decrease is normal, watch carefully and cut back frequency if you see a problem. Don't assume if the unsubscribe rate is stable you're OK. Many people prefer to forward email directly to their delete folder rather than unsubscribe.

Topic 7: Understanding Spam Filters

Understanding Spam Filters to Avoid Your Emails Get Junked!

If you send email campaigns long enough, you will inevitably run into spam filter issues. On average, you can expect 10-20% of your emails to just get lost in cyberspace, mostly due to overzealous spam filters. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix. If you want to avoid getting your emails junked by spam filters, you have to understand how they work.

Generally speaking, spam filters look at a long list of criteria to judge whether or not your email is junk. For example, they might look for spammy phrases like "CLICK HERE!" or "FREE! BUY NOW!". They'll assign points each time they see one of those phrases. Certain criteria get more points than others. Here's a sample of criteria from Spam Assassin, one of the most popular spam filters out there:

• Talks about lots of money (.193 points)

• Describes some sort of breakthrough (.232 points)

• Looks like mortgage pitch (.297 points)

• Contains urgent matter (.288 points)

• Money back guarantee (2.051 points)

• Why Pay More? (1.249 points)

It's easy to use "spammy" keywords in your email without even knowing it. Here are some common ways marketers unwittingly trigger spam filters with their campaigns:

1. Using spammy phrases, like "Click here!" or "Once in a lifetime opportunity!" too many times in your email. Sometimes, you can't avoid phrases like "FREE SHIPPING!" but use them sparingly, and don't do anything else risky.

2. Going crazy with exclamation points!!!!!!

3. USING ALL CAPS, WHICH IS LIKE YELLING IN EMAIL

4. Coloring their fonts bright red, or green

5. Coding sloppy HTML (such as by converting a Microsoft Word file to HTML)

6. Creating an HTML email that's nothing but one big image, with no text (since spam filters can't read images, they assume you're a spammer that's trying to trick 'em)

7. Using the word "Test" in the subject line (agencies run into this all the time, when sending drafts to clients for approval)

Topic 8: Why Email Marketing Does not Work?

If Your Email Marketing Does not Work, Think Again Why?

Before you arrive at the faulty conclusion that email marketing doesn't work, let’s look at this from a different perspective for a moment that would make your emails ineffective.

First there's what you are writing in the body of the email. If this is your first attempt to get in touch with a prospect, what are you putting in the email? A dissertation? If it's longer than one or two paragraphs, it's too long. Look at your emails like an initial cold call. You need to laser in and deliver a compelling opening statement that's going to grab their interest and stimulate a conversation. Because there's no one to cut you off in an email or stop you from persistent pontification, people have tendency to ramble on and on in an email, giving the prospect the life story of the product or service they want them to consider. Keep it short and focus on the one or two benefits, opening up the opportunity to have a dialogue. That's it.

Second, are you sending attachments in the first email? No attachments! It's hard enough sending an unsolicited email to a prospect. Now you're adding more barriers and increasing the chances of your email winding up in their spam box or junk email folder. Some people have filters on their email that if an attachment is sent it automatically gets deleted. No attachment until that information in the attachment is solicited by the person.

Third, html or text? Once again, with all the email filters people use today, you will increase your odds by sending a text message only rather than trying to get fancy with formatting, graphics and pictures. The prospect really doesn't care about how beautiful your email looks; they care about the core message. Besides, they will never even get a chance to see your beautiful masterpiece in an html email if it's winding up in the trash.

Finally, you are using way too many spam words. As mentioned, the biggest enemy to email marketing or selling via email is the additional security that companies and individuals have on their network or computer. As such, the specific words you are using in the body of the email can be the culprit who is sending your email directly into the trash or spam box. In other words, you are using words that are often identified is spam and in turn, you email is getting flagged and deleted. Not even eye contact! The prospect is not getting a chance to, at the very least, see your email let alone read it and have a chance to respond accordingly.

Use MySpace to Get Traffic!

MySpace has been used and abused for the last few years. It's a huge site which attracts huge spam. But I think it still has potential to bring traffic. I'll explain a simple trick that I used to drive new potential fans to my MySpace music profile so I could build a bigger fan base for my music.

At the time I figured this out, I wasn't into website building, marketing and the whole nine. But if you do it right, you could drive traffic to your website, get more referrals, and etc. I'm not sure if they've cracked down on this or not as I think I am maybe one of the few that know about it. Anyway, here's how it's done.

Create a music account on MySpace. When you fill out your band name, make sure to use a highly searched artist's name. For example, when I did this I used Fergie. So it looked something like Fergie & Brandon Roy.

When MySpacers search for these famous artists (and they do alot!), you pop up on the first page of search results and people will surely click on your profile. Simple isn't it?

Before doing this method, I was normally getting about 150 to 200 plays on my music player each day. After I changed my name and put Fergie in it, I was showing right under Fergie and was getting about 2,000 more plays per day. That means I was getting roughly over 2,000 more visitors to my profile a day! (some visit and don't listen to the music). Now it's up to you to figure out how to turn these profile visitors into website visitors without being flagged as a spammer. I would say the traffic is not targetted unless you're trying to drive traffic to some sort of music site or MySpace resource site. But then again, who says that Fergie fans aren't interested in making money online?

Be careful because I finally recieved a message from the MySpace team telling me to remove Fergie's name from my band name. It seems that Fergie might have complained to MySpace that I was stealing her traffic/fans. And of course MySpace is going to suck up to the big fish. They don't care about us little guys like they used to. So you'll probably need to do this in a more descrete way. Something like "I <3 [artist name here]". But do not upload their music on your MySpace music player. That's guaranteed bannage.

4 Things Affiliate Marketers Need

Here's my response, along with some information on what it takes to be successful as an affiliate marketer and tips on how to make affiliate marketing work for you as an online home business. You may not think that having a home business provides as much security, but you won't get laid off and you won't be called back into the office, and you should almost always get along with the Boss. In my mind, all of this makes the idea of starting a home business all the more appealing. There are thousands of work at home jobs and home business opportunities on the Internet.

After a LOT of research, as well as plenty of trial and error, I have learned some very important things to look for in home businesses, work at home jobs, affiliate programs and all the other types of work at home business opportunities. My preferred niche is in affiliate marketing, this vs. traditional marketing is by far easier and more lucrative in the long run. You can build a higher residual and passive income this way. My opinion, of course, but try it out for yourself and see that I know what I am talking about.

Useful Tips:
1) Starting a successful online business begins with research.

Look into every aspect of your business, Are you going to need inventory, storage, up front money? Websites, domains, and hosts are very important factors in research! The wrong web host and you are doomed from the beginning*. Write it all down so you can look back from time to time. Research your niche, by that I mean what kind of business would best suit you and your needs. What are you good at? Think about this question before you go any further and write down your answers so you can research them.

2) Websites, domains, and web hosts are crucial in your success.

Like I said above*, Most Internet businesses, that have a drive to succeed, focus all of their time and resources on building a great site, and then trying to drive tons of traffic to that site. I recommend staying away from Free web hosting for a business , Most free hosting has drawbacks such as they reserve the right to place ads of all kinds on your site, this looks very unprofessional and will make you lose business in the long run, so beware, free isn’t always good. Check out reviews on the host of your choice to make sure they have good credibility standards on the internet. I personally recommend Host 4 Profit as they have always had great customer service, and they, to my knowledge, are rarely if ever down like some hosts I’ve ran across in the past. Anyway, research this one immensely.

3) One of the biggest key factors in building a successful online business is traffic. Only after you have chosen the right name and host for your business should you move to this step. There are many Free ways to get traffic on the web; Articles, blogs, free advertising sites there are plenty of, traffic exchanges like Traffic Swarm, Traffic G, etc. Making sure you get enough backlinks to your site makes the Big difference. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN will not pick you up if they can’t find you. Make your website available to be found by getting your link on everything you can, but always staying within the rules of advertising, otherwise you do more damage than good to your business. If you have NO traffic, you have NO sales. No sales equals No Business. You see the effect here.

4) Perseverance, it’s not something you can find online it’s something you have to find within. I know you’re thinking now why did I put that in there. Perseverance is what you will need most when you start and try to maintain an affiliate marketing online business. When you work at home you get to set your own hours and granted you can even work while still in your PJ’s but at home there are constant distractions to stop you from staying on task. Someone will stop by, the kids will start fighting, emergencies arise, the phone never stops ringing, etc… You name it, it will be sure to happen. This is why perseverance is in my top 10 tips to maintain a successful online business. You must make it a point every night before going to bed to make a ‘to do’ list for the next day concerning your business. This strategy has helped me most of all and it keeps me on task.
